Merriment day 23 Christmas past.....

I am not sure what year this picture was taken.  Sorry it's a wee bit dark... But on the left is my mom as a little girl on Christmas morning holding a baby doll... her brother's and my Grandma Marie, great photo isn't it?

Before my mom pasted away she asked me if I wanted her baby doll... I got it after she pasted away.. and here she sits to greet you in the front room.  My Niece Joey loves to play tea party with her when shes over at this little farm table... ( see my new Santa on the table? Merry Christmas to me!  He just came today, he is a candy dish! Love him!  I need to find a better spot for him)

Then I received some fun Merriment in the mail yesterday!  I won Kimberly's giveaway from The Red Cupboard Post.  I love her work...  I won Mr. Gingerbread man... That is one of her floppy snowmen on the left... In the screen box is a snowman made by Becky from primitives and stitchin!
So the snow they say is coming tomorrow... YIKES!  I am excited, but need to get all my errands done early... Please dont' be made at me Ms. Cranky!  OLM

Oh how wonderful to have her doll! Apparently you are named for your grandmother. I admire you allowing your niece to play tea party with her, I bet she feels so special. SNOW!!!!!!! We are to get wind

How wonderful...I love that photo - and the doll looks like one we had when we were little...they were called 'Horseman' dolls - I amd guessing this is the brand of doll. But they were large like yours.
What a great Santa but how is it a candy dish? Been looking at that picture but can't figure it out.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Karen

What a treasure to have!! And I'm just talking about the photo - not to mention your mum's baby doll. Is that the same exact doll she's holding in the photo??? If so, wow wee.... Your mum's smile is priceless....and your namesake is a beautiful lady.....(drat that I was born on the first day of spring....or I could have been Emma instead or Elsa instead....) :o Congrats, too on winning that sweet ginger of Kimberly's. I adore her work. (But you sure it's a "Gingerbread man"??? Almost could look anatomically correct for a Ginger Gal if you ask me.... ;o) Ok....gotta go....before someone KICKS me out of blogland for my bad taste.... And, yes, you should go with me for even thinking snow is a remotely good thing. They called off school here in Nod hours ago and we haven't gotten a flake yet tonight....but when all the channels are saying 100% chance, you know it's coming.... Drat the luck.... Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

What a special gift to have from your mother. And how brave you are to let someone play with it!!! It's those things that make life meaningful and a home a lovely place to be. Congrats on your win. -Steph-
